![]() ![]() Purchase a combo for pickup at noon, 12:15, etc. SOLUTION 2: Offer food packages with TIMED prep. That way people who really want to wait for a pizza can, while the rest of us can at least get a drink in less than 90 minutes! YES, EVEN BOTTLED WATER TOOK THAT LONG. SOLUTION 1: Create separate lines for drinks, for cold food, and for longer-cooking food. and dumb to make everyone wait, whether they want pizza or not. There was only one line for all food offerings, and the orders for burgers, pizza and wings held everything up. Major problem on a hot day that we couldn't get a cold drink or any food after NINETY MINUTES in line. PROBLEM: NO outside food OR WATER allowed in. Here's what I noticed, and how management can fix it:ġ. You'll at least have FOOD and a good spot to leave your stuff. If you have a group of more than 4, splurge for the cabana and plan to spend the whole day to get your money's worth. Buy your tickets online for the eeny-weeny savings of a few dollars and tiny time savings of waiting in the shorter line for web purchasers.ĥ. So go all the way around! You won't have to walk so far in the heat, and can drive right out when you're done.Ĥ. You can see it when you first drive in but because of the one-way, you can't turn right to drive to it. Drive ALL the way around-it's one-way-to the OTHER side of the parking lot and park near the ADDITIONAL entrance. Don't bother trying to find a parking spot when you first drive in. Not sure whether they allow re-entry but I couldn't spend more than 3 hours there.ģ. Pack a cooler with snacks and ice packs to leave in your car so you can eat when you get out. I will come back but will prepare much better:ġ. It was definitely well-maintained and a cool setup with fun stuff to do, but wow, the attitude. Because WOW, management, you could do SO much better without too much more work!!! I felt like management was protecting THEIR interests, NOT trying to help people have a safe, fun time. ![]() Place was mobbed, as expected, but the crowd was very well behaved despite the crowding, long lines and disorganization. “Once the college students are back this fall it will get real busy.Arrived the afternoon of July 20, one of the hottest days of the year. “All attractions are made to be self-sustainable and safe,” Woodall said. The first Rush Funplex was built in Syracuse about 10 years ago, Woodall noted. They don’t take reservations, except for businesses, church groups or family reunions that could buy out the whole center. Small groups can buy a 20 hour punch card and each person can get 2 hours for about $10. We’ve hit our stride.”Ī three-hour pass is $25, while a full-day pass costs $30. There are so many activities in one place. That means the smallest children can play and be cared for while the rest of the family plays a round of miniature golf or bowling. The mall’s free children’s play land had be reconfigured, so kids now enter through the funplex. The Rush Funplex offers 14 bowling lanes, bumper cars, laser tag, miniature golf, go-carts, rock climbing, arcades and more. While the fall and winter months are usually the busiest for the multi-activity indoor arena, the heat of summer is also bringing people inside. There are other Rush Funplexes in Syracuse, West Jordan and Kansas City, Missouri. The funplex was scheduled to open last summer, but after supply chain issues, COVID-19 and other problems, the opening was delayed until this year. Those employees will be kept busy with the number of activities offered at the University Place location. Now, Woodall said, all 35 of his employees are ready to meet the public. It has been about three months since the Rush Funplex at University Place quietly opened its doors.Īccording to Christian Woodall, business developer, Rush wanted to make sure the employees were trained and ready for the potential crowds that will eventually come. ![]()
